MoveCostMatrix provides a free, browser-based moving cost calculator that generates estimated costs for three moving methods: DIY truck rental, portable moving containers, and full-service professional movers. The calculator uses publicly available data, industry averages, and mathematical algorithms to produce these estimates. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind.

The Service also includes informational content such as moving guides, articles, checklists, and resource listings (“Content”). This Content is provided for general informational and educational purposes only.

Estimates Are for Planning Only

The estimates generated by MoveCostMatrix are for planning purposes only and are not guaranteed quotes from any moving company. Actual costs may vary significantly based on factors including but not limited to:

• Actual weight of belongings
• Seasonal demand and peak pricing surcharges
• Fuel surcharges and toll costs
• Stair carry, long carry, and shuttle service fees
• Packing materials and labor charges
• Specialty item handling (pianos, hot tubs, art, etc.)
• Insurance and valuation coverage options
• Storage-in-transit requirements
• Local permit and parking fees

You should always obtain binding quotes from licensed moving companies before making financial decisions related to your move. MoveCostMatrix does not guarantee that any moving company will offer services at the estimated price or at any specific price.

No Guarantee of Accuracy

We strive to make our distance and cost calculations as accurate as possible using the Haversine formula, public postal-code geocoding APIs, industry-average per-mile rates, and published rate schedules from major providers. However, we make no warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or timeliness of any estimate, data point, or content published on the Service. Data sources change, provider rates fluctuate, and regional market conditions vary in ways that our models cannot fully capture. You acknowledge that estimates may differ materially from actual moving costs.

No Professional Advice

The information provided by MoveCostMatrix — including calculator estimates, moving guides, checklists, and articles — does not constitute professional moving, financial, legal, tax, or insurance advice. Our Content is written for general educational purposes and may not reflect the laws, regulations, or market conditions specific to your jurisdiction or situation. Embed Widget License

We offer a free embeddable widget that allows third-party websites to display the MoveCostMatrix calculator on their own pages. By using the embed code provided on our embed page, you agree to the following terms:

• The widget must include the “Powered by MoveCostMatrix” attribution link. You may not remove, hide, or alter this attribution.
• The widget is provided free of charge for non-commercial and commercial use.
